The Rage Cage was born from the worst kind of adversity — and the best kind of stubbornness. When the pandemic shut down sports and stole some of the most formative years from young athletes, brothers James and Chaz Cook converted a two-car garage into a makeshift gym and refused to let their athletes give up.

What started as a spark in 2020 became a community, a methodology, and a movement. Athletes from middle school through college came to the Cage to keep their edge sharp and their dreams alive.

Today, the Cage has grown into a full training facility inside CrossFit 845 Poughkeepsie — and the fire that started it all still burns at the center of everything we do.

"From intimidated to deadlifting 245 lbs!"

"Returning to the gym after a very long hiatus was intimidating, but starting with HUM classes with Coach Chaz completely changed my trajectory. I quickly noticed massive improvements in my strength, flexibility, and joint stability. He provides incredible personalized guidance in a fun, motivating environment. Six months in, I'm now lifting in the late-night adult Rage Cage sessions, climbing ropes, and hitting a 245-lb deadlift. It’s the best I’ve ever felt!"
